ITINERARY

Day 1: Rome

Arrival at the airport of Rome. Private transfer to the hotel. accommodation

 

Day 2: Rome Vatican Museums

Breakfast at the hotel. Regular tour (join-in group tour) to the Vatican Museums. Transfer to the meeting point by your own.

We begin the tour of Piazza della Repubblica with the Naiads Fountain. From Piazzale Flaminio we can see Piazza del Popolo, the old northern entrance of the Capital, with the Egyptian obelisk of Ramses II in the center. Then we will have a walk along the walls of Vatican City to reach the entrance of the Vatican Museums. Our guide will lead us to the Arazzi Gallery, the Geographic Gallery, before finally reaching the famous Sistine Chapel with the wonderful fresco of the Universal Judgment of Michelangelo. At the end of the excursion, free time at your disposal to visit St. Peter’s Basilica. Accommodation

 

Day 3: Classical Rome & Imperial Rome

Breakfast at the hotel. Regular tour (join-in group tour) of the Classical Rome. Transfer to the meeting point by your own.

Crossing Piazza della Repubblica with the Naiads Fountain, the guided tour will start with a pleasant walk through the historic center of the “Eternal City”, which will lead us to the Trevi Fountain, the Marco Aurelio Column, Palazzo di Montecitorio (designed by Bernini), the Pantheon, Palazzo Madama (seat of the Senate of the Republic) and Piazza Navona. We will then board the coach, and after passing through Castel Sant’Angelo, we will arrive St. Peter’s Square, where we will have an explanation of the Basilica from the outside

Free lunch

In the afternoon, Regular tour (join-in group tour) of the Imperial Rome. We will arrive Piazza Venezia by bus and the walking guided tour will begin from here, heading to Piazza del Campidoglio, designed by the great Michelangelo, where we can enjoy a wonderful view of the Roman Forum. Continue the sightseeing tour by coach, reaching the Circus Maximus and Colle Aventino. Stop to admire the Statue of Moses by Michelangelo located in the church of San Pietro in Vincoli, at a very short distance from here, you will reach the symbol of the eternal city: the Colosseum (internal visit, the ticket is included in the price)

 

Day 4: Rome – Florence

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer on your own to the train station. One you arrived Florence, the transfer to the hotel will be on your own. Free time at your disposal to get to know Florence. Accommodation

Day 5: Florence

Breakfast at the hotel. Walking Regular tour (join-in group tour) of the city of Florence. There won’t be pick-up at the hotel, you will have to reach the meeting point in Florence where the excursions begin, by your own.

The morning city tour will be through art, landscapes, and Renaissance masterpieces. This discovery tour starts from two of the most beautiful and romantic places in the world: PIAZZALE MICHELANGELO and FIESOLE, two must-see destinations for landscapes lovers! Here you can enjoy the sights and historical panorama of Florence. Your local guide will be at your disposal throughout the morning, pointing out the main monuments of the city from these magnificent panoramic terraces: the unmistakable Brunelleschi’s Dome, the Palazzo Vecchio and the innumerable Romanesque churches, as well as Florence hills. You will then enter the heart of the city center: the first stop will be the Gallerria dell’Accademia famous for its David by Michelangelo, the unfinished art works of Prigioni, San Matteo, Pietà di Palestrina, and other masterpieces of the great artist. You will learn some interesting facts about the tormented life of Michelangelo and why his masterpiece has become the symbol of Florence over the centuries. The tour ends with a walk through the historic streets of the city to reach PIAZZA DUOMO, where you will learn the secrets of the Giotto bell tower and discover the beauty of the baptistery with its golden and bronze doors (including the famous Porta del Paradiso.). Last but not least, there is the impressive Cathedral itself. Rest of the day with free time at your disposal to know more about the city. Accommodation

 

Day 6: Florence – Pisa – Venice

Breakfast at the hotel. Regular excursion (join-in group tour) to Pisa (without hotel pick-up). You will have to reach the meeting point from where the excursion will leave, on your own.

The tour begins with a walk along the old medieval walls that take us to the Porta di Santa Maria, where you can admire the spectacular Piazza dei Miracoli with its architectural wonders; here, our local guide will lead us through the visit of the majestic Cathedral, masterpiece of Romanesque art.

Return to Florence. In the afternoon, transfer on your own to Florence train station, take the train to Venice. Arrival in Venice and transfer on your own to the hotel in Venice. Rest of the day off. Overnight.

 

Day 7: Venice – Murano, Burano & Torcello

Breakfast at the hotel. Regular walking tour (join-in group tour) of the city of Venice (without hotel pick-up).

Departure from St. Mark’s square with explanation of the main monuments: St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, the Bell Tower, the Clock Tower and Procuratie. Proceed then to Santa Maria Formosa and from here to San Giovanni e Paolo, where the guide will talk about the Venice Pantheon, the Charity Place Schools and the Adventure Captains. During the tour you walk around the neighborhoods where Marco Polo lived. Back to St. Mark’s square through Mercerie Street, an artery that connects Rialto and St. Mark, the main place for shopping, accordingly to the Venetians. In the afternoon, regular excursion (join-in group tour) to the Laguna’s Islands: Murano, Burano & Torcello (without hotel pick-up).

Starting next to St. Mark’s square, we will board a traditional Venetian ferry to cross the lagoon towards north, passing next to San Giorgio Maggiore and the Lido. Arrive Torcello: the oldest island in the Venetian lagoon and touring will be like returning to the past. Here we will see the Throne of Attila and the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta.

Next stop will be Burano, with its small canals, colorful houses and thread lace craftsmen which characterize the Island, our favorite island in the Venetian lagoon.

The final stop, before getting back to Venice, will be Murano: famous for the glass that bears his name, here we will see how the glassmakers of one of its artisan factories works.

The tour ends next to St. Mark’s square. Accommodation

 

Day 8: Venice – Milan

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Venice train station on your own. Train to Milan: upon arrival transfer on your own to the hotel. Rest of the day off. Accommodation

 

Day 9: Milan.

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit Milan on your own with the Hop On / Hop off Tourist Bus. Make the most of your time during your stay in Milan with a tour aboard the City Sightseeing tour bus. Go up and down as many times as you wish to visit the most prominent places in the fashion capital. With route B, you can get on and off at your own pace in 13 stops distributed between Piazza Castello and the Brera neighborhood. This route is ideal if you want to visit the Palazzo Lombardia, Porta Venezia or the Duomo, for example.

 

Day 10: Milan

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Milan airport (Malpensa or Linate). End of our services.
