ITINERARY
Day 1. Bogota
Welcome and assistance at El Dorado International Airport and transfer to the hotel.
At night, as a welcome in the city, we will ascend to one of the most important hills, the Monserrate hill, from there you will be able to appreciate a spectacular panoramic view of the city and at the top visit the San Isidro Restaurant, a great gastronomic exponent where there will be a get-to-know- dinner with the group.
Return to the hotel and accommodation.
Day 2. Saline Route. (Zipaquirá – Nemocon)
Breakfast at the Hotel. Transfer to the town of Zipaquirá (approx. 1,5 hr from Bogota) driving through the northern savannah. Upon reaching the town you will visit the first tourist wonder of Colombia, the salt cathedral from Zipaquirá, a place full of mysticism that will give a perspective on the beginnings of the exploitation of salt during the different periods of history. There you will descend
walking up to 180 m deep amid sinkholes that today become a great work of architecture with a strong religious significance there.
After the tour, the transfer will be made to the town of Suesca to the accommodation to have dinner and rest.
Day 3. Farallones Route (Suesca- Cucunuba- Sutatausa)
Breakfast at the hotel. The first route will begin from Suesca’s “Rock of the birds” which translation comes from the language of the Muyscas (first settlers of the Cundiboyacense area).
This route by bike will be surrounded by mountains and the great Suesca lagoon from where a part of this town can be seen. Later on, you will reach Cucunuba, a town with a textile tradition,
Right there you will recognize the characteristics of the settlers of yesteryear who preserve the activity of making fabrics with sheep’s wool. Taking a break, you will taste an autochthonous snack and then continue with the route. The next destination is the town of Sutatausa, surrounding the palace cliffs, also known for their tragic history during the conquest, there will be an introduction to the museum that keeps the colonial legacy and that is a window to that past that was a break from the aboriginal traditions.
Finally, lunch will be taken, accompanied by a delicious coffee. Return to Bogota.
In the evening to say goodbye to this short adventure, we will have a farewell dinner at the Andres DC Restaurant located in one of the important gastronomy areas of the city.
Day 4. Bogota
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to El Dorado Airport according to the flight time to the city of origin or next destination.
