ITINERARY

Day 1: Rome

Arrival at Rome airport. Private transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.

 

Day 2: Classical Rome & Imperial Rome

Breakfast at the hotel. Regular tour (join-in group tour) of the Classical Rome. Transfer to the meeting point by your own.

Crossing Piazza della Repubblica with the Naiads Fountain, the guided tour will start with a pleasant walk through the historic center of the “Eternal City”, which will lead us to the Trevi Fountain, the Marco Aurelio Column, Palazzo di Montecitorio (designed by Bernini), the Pantheon, Palazzo Madama (seat of the Senate of the Republic) and Piazza Navona. We will then board the coach, and after passing through Castel Sant’Angelo, we will arrive St. Peter’s Square, where we will have an explanation of the Basilica from the outside

Free lunch

In the afternoon, Regular tour (join-in group tour) of the Imperial Rome. We will arrive Piazza Venezia by bus and the walking guided tour will begin from here, heading to Piazza del Campidoglio, designed by the great Michelangelo, where we can enjoy a wonderful view of the Roman Forum. Continue the sightseeing tour by coach, reaching the Circus Maximus and Colle Aventino. Stop to admire the Statue of Moses by Michelangelo located in the church of San Pietro in Vincoli, at a very short distance from here, you will reach the symbol of the eternal city: the Colosseum (internal visit, the ticket is included in the price)

 

Day 3: Roma Vatican Museums – Florence

Breakfast at the hotel. Regular tour (join-in group tour) to the Vatican Museums. Transfer to the meeting point by your own.

We begin the tour of Piazza della Repubblica with the Naiads Fountain. From Piazzale Flaminio we can see Piazza del Popolo, the old northern entrance of the Capital, with the Egyptian obelisk of Ramses II in the center. Then we will have a walk along the walls of Vatican City to reach the entrance of the Vatican Museums. Our guide will lead us to the Arazzi Gallery, the Geographic Gallery, before finally reaching the famous Sistine Chapel with the wonderful fresco of the Universal Judgment of Michelangelo. At the end of the excursion, free time at your disposal to visit St. Peter’s Basilica. The tour ends at the closest point to your hotel.

Transfer on your own to Rome train station. Train to Florence. Transfer to the hotel on your own. Accommodation.

 

Day 4: Florence – Pisa – Florence

Breakfast at the hotel. Regular tour (join-in group tour) of Pisa (without hotel pickup). Transfer to the starting point of the excursion on your own.

Our tour begins with a walk along the old medieval walls that take us to Porta Santa Maria, from where we can admire the spectacular Piazza dei Miracoli with its architectural wonders, from here our guide will bring us to visit the majestic cathedral, masterpiece of Romanesque art. Before returning to Florence, we will have free time for (exterior) photos of the unique Leaning Tower. Return to Florence.

In the afternoon, regular excursion (join-in group) to visit Florence (without hotel pick-up). Transfer to the starting point of the excursion on your own.

An afternoon city tour among art, picturesque streets, and the most beautiful paintings in the world.

The first part of the tour is dedicated to the heart of Florence, its historical center and its wonderful squares and sites of interest: we will begin with an illuminating walking tour led by a local guide who will discover every corner of the cradle of the Renaissance. First, you will admire from the outside the impressive Basilica of SANTA CROCE, located in the historic square of the same name. This Franciscan church is actually one of the finest achievements of the Italian Gothic style and is also known as the Temple of Italian Glories as it is the final resting place of Italian artists such as Michelangelo, Galileo Galilei, and Niccolò Machiavelli. Follow your professional guide to PIAZZA DELLA SIGNORIA, the unique heart of the city’s social life, to admire the imposing architecture of PALAZZO VECCHIO and the famous statues of Loggia de ‘Lanzi, among which is the magnificent Perseus by Cellini. Then, you will arrive at one of the symbols of Florence, the wonderful Ponte Vecchio: learn about its incredible history and how it was saved from the bombings during the Second World War. The tour ends inside the world-famous GALLERIA DEGLI UFFIZI, where you can admire the unique Renaissance masterpieces of the great Italian artists, you will participate in an exciting celebration of beauty, admiring artworks such as The Birth of Venus by Botticelli, Leonardo’s Annunciation and Tondo Doni by Michelangelo, to name a few. At the end of the guided tour, you can stay at the Uffizi Gallery until closing time. Return to the hotel on your own, accommodation.

 

Day 5: Florence – La Spezia

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Florence train station on your own, and then catch the train to La Spezia (in some cases with connections-no direct trains). Transfer to the hotel in La Spezia on your own. Accommodation

 

Day 6: La Spezia – Cinque Terre – La Spezia

Breakfast at the hotel. Day dedicated to the visit the villages of the Cinque Terre. With the Cinque Terre Card Treni, which allows access to all towns for 24 hours.

We suggest a visit to Monterosso, the largest city among all the cities of the Cinque Terre. Take your time to walk around town with great views over the terraced vineyards and ancient olive groves. Continue to the charming town of Vernazza, characterized by its narrow streets and its small square with views over the sea. Return by train to La Spezia. Accommodation

 

Day 7: La Spezia – Turin

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, departure by train to Turin. Arrival in Turin in the morning and transfer to the hotel on your own.

In the afternoon, visit the ancient capital of Italy. Enjoy a walking tour that will allow us to see (exterior visits) the Palazzo Reale, which was the residence of the kings of Italy for more than two centuries, the Senate with its two parts, the magnificent Baroque church of San Lorenzo, the Renaissance cathedral where it is located the Sacra Sindone, Via Roma with its elegant shops and historic cafes, Piazza San Carlo, also known as the “salon” of Turin, the Piazza Carignano, birthplace of the Renaissance and the Teatro Regio. Back to the hotel. Accommodation.

 

Day 8: Turin – The Langhe (Govone – Alba – Monforte d’Alba) – Turin  

Breakfast at the hotel. Pick up at the hotel and departure to the town of Govone, a town that rises around its castle and became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. Continue to Alba where we will make a quick visit of the town. Alba is also known as the homeland of the white truffle. Free time and departure to Monforte d’Alba, a town with narrow and steep alleys, we will go up to the oldest part of the city that contains a series of wonders: the arena (now covered with grass), the tower, the walls and the church of Sant’Agostino (also known as Confraternita dei Disciplinati – “Brotherhood of the Disciplined). Return to Turin. Accommodation

 

Day 9: Turin – Milan 

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, departure by train to Milan. Arrival in Milan and transfer to the hotel on your own. In the afternoon, city tour. We will start the visit with a walking tour of the city center through Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and a visit to the Museum of the Teatro alla Scala. Sightseeing tour of the city by bus through Via Manzoni, Porta Nuova, Monumental Cemetery. We will make a stop at the Sforzesco Castle and visit Michelangelo’s Pietà Rondanini. Accommodation in Milan.

 

Day 10: Milán – Lago de Como – Milán 

Breakfast at the hotel. Regular tour (join-in group tour) of Lake Como (without hotel pickup). Transfer to the starting point of the excursion on your own.

A wonderful day trip by bus to the enchanting Lake Como, world famous for its splendid villas and gardens. You will enjoy a relaxing cruise on the lake, surrounded by magnificent landscapes. In addition, you can visit the characteristic and colorful towns of Bellagio and Varenna.

Arrival in Como and visit of the historic center and Villa Olmo. Afterwards, transfer by bus to Villa Carlotta along the lake. Here we will embark by private boat to Bellagio, navigating along Villa Balbianello and Comacina Island. Visit of Bellagio and free time for lunch. Transfer by ferry to Varenna and visit of the town.

Return by bus to Milan. Accommodation

 

Day 11: Milán

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Milan’s airport or train station. End of our services.
