ITINERARY

Day 1: Venice

Arrival at Venice airport. Private transfer to the nearest accessible point of your hotel. Accommodation

 

Day 2: Venice – Murano, Burano & Torcello

Breakfast at the hotel. Regular walking tour (join-in group tour) of the city of Venice (without hotel pick-up).

Departure from St. Mark’s square with explanation of the main monuments: St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, the Bell Tower, the Clock Tower and Procuratie. Proceed then to Santa Maria Formosa and from here to San Giovanni e Paolo, where the guide will talk about the Venice Pantheon, the Charity Place Schools, and the Adventure Captains. During the tour you walk around the neighborhoods where Marco Polo lived. Back to St. Mark’s square through Mercerie Street, an artery that connects Rialto and St. Mark, the main place for shopping, accordingly to the Venetians. In the afternoon, regular excursion (join-in group tour) to the Laguna’s Islands: Murano, Burano & Torcello (without hotel pick-up).

Starting next to St. Mark’s square, we will board a traditional Venetian ferry to cross the lagoon towards north, passing next to San Giorgio Maggiore and the Lido. Arrive Torcello: the oldest island in the Venetian lagoon and touring will be like returning to the past. Here we will see the Throne of Attila and the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta.

Next stop will be Burano, with its small canals, colorful houses and thread lace craftsmen which characterize the Island, our favorite island in the Venetian lagoon.

The final stop, before getting back to Venice, will be Murano: famous for the glass that bears his name, here we will see how the glassmakers of one of its artisan factories works.

The tour ends next to St. Mark’s square. Accommodation

 

Day 3: Venice – Florence

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer on your own to the train station. Train to Florence. Arrival in Florence and transfer on your own to the hotel.

In the afternoon, regular excursion (with other participants) to visit Florence. Transfer to the departure point of the excursion on your own.

An afternoon city tour among art, picturesque streets and the most beautiful paintings in the world.

The first part of the tour is dedicated to the heart of Florence, its historical center and its wonderful squares and places of interest: we start with an enlightening walking tour led by a local guide who will discover every corner of the cradle of the Renaissance. First, you will admire from the outside the impressive Basilica of SANTA CROCE, located in the historic square of the same name. This Franciscan church is actually one of the finest achievements of the Italian Gothic style and is also known as the Temple of Italian Glories, as it is the final resting place of Italian artists such as Michelangelo, Galileo Galilei, and Niccolò Machiavelli. Follow your professional guide to PIAZZA DELLA SIGNORIA, the unique heart of the city’s social life, to admire the imposing architecture of PALAZZO VECCHIO and the famous statues of Loggia de ‘Lanzi, including the magnificent Perseus by Cellini. Then, you will arrive at one of the symbols of Florence, the majestic Ponte Vecchio: learn about its incredible history and how it was saved from the bombings during the Second World War. The tour ends inside the world-famous GALLERY DEGLI UFFIZI, where you can admire the unique Renaissance masterpieces of the great Italian artists, where you will participate in an exciting celebration of beauty, admiring works of art such as The Birth of Venus by Botticelli, Leonardo Annunciation and Tondo Doni by Michelangelo, to name a few. At the end of the guided tour, you can stay at the Uffizi Gallery until closing time.

 

Day 4: Florence – Pisa – Rome

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, regular excursion (with other participants) to visit Pisa. Transfer to the departure point of the excursion on your own.

Our tour begins with a walk along the old medieval walls that lead us to the Puerta de Santa Maria, from where we can admire the spectacular Piazza dei Miracoli with its architectural wonders, and where the guide accompanies us to visit the majestic Cathedral, masterpiece of Romanesque art. Before returning to Florence, we will have free time for (exterior) photos of the unique Pending Tower.

Return to Florence. In the afternoon, transfer on your own to the train station. Train to Rome. Arrival in Rome and transfer on your own to the hotel. Accommodation

 

Day 5: Classical Rome & Imperial Rome

Breakfast at the hotel. Regular tour (join-in group tour) of the Classical Rome. Transfer to the meeting point by your own.

Crossing Piazza della Repubblica with the Naiads Fountain, the guided tour will start with a pleasant walk through the historic center of the “Eternal City”, which will lead us to the Trevi Fountain, the Marco Aurelio Column, Palazzo di Montecitorio (designed by Bernini), the Pantheon, Palazzo Madama (seat of the Senate of the Republic) and Piazza Navona. We will then board the coach, and after passing through Castel Sant’Angelo, we will arrive St. Peter’s Square, where we will have an explanation of the Basilica from the outside

Free lunch

In the afternoon, Regular tour (join-in group tour) of the Imperial Rome. We will arrive Piazza Venezia by bus and the walking guided tour will begin from here, heading to Piazza del Campidoglio, designed by the great Michelangelo, where we can enjoy a wonderful view of the Roman Forum. Continue the sightseeing tour by coach, reaching the Circus Maximus and Colle Aventino. Stop to admire the Statue of Moses by Michelangelo located in the church of San Pietro in Vincoli, at a very short distance from here, you will reach the symbol of the eternal city: the Colosseum (internal visit, the ticket is included in the price)

 

Day 6: Rome Vatican Museums – Sorrento

Breakfast at the hotel. Regular tour (join-in group tour) to the Vatican Museums. Transfer to the meeting point by your own.

We begin the tour of Piazza della Repubblica with the Naiads Fountain. From Piazzale Flaminio we can see Piazza del Popolo, the old northern entrance of the Capital, with the Egyptian obelisk of Ramses II in the center. Then we will have a walk along the walls of Vatican City to reach the entrance of the Vatican Museums. Our guide will lead us to the Arazzi Gallery, the Geographic Gallery, before finally reaching the famous Sistine Chapel with the wonderful fresco of the Universal Judgment of Michelangelo. At the end of the excursion, free time at your disposal to visit St. Peter’s Basilica.

In the afternoon, transfer to the train station on your own. Rome-Naples train. Transfer from the Naples train station to the Sorrento hotel. accommodation

 

Day 7: Sorrento – Amalfi Coast – Sorrento

Breakfast at the hotel. Regular excursion (join-in group tour) to discover the Amalfi Coast. Transfer to the departure point of the excursion on your own.

Departure in the morning from Sorrento to the Amalfi coast.

First stop will be the famous Amalfi coast road, one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world, to take some “souvenir photos”. Arrival in Positano around 11:30 to visit this small town, whose colorful buildings cascade towards the sea. You will have the opportunity to visit the famous craft boutiques or the church of Santa Maria Assunta.

Second stop will be in Amalfi, passing through the picturesque villages of Praiano, Furore and Conca dei Marini. Arrive Amalfi, Perla della Costiera, a city famous in the past for paper production. Do not miss the typical Mediterranean architecture, formed by narrow streets and typical white houses stacked together and a visit to the famous Amalfi Cathedral.

Last stop of the tour is in Ravello, a magical land, as described by the most famous travelers, chosen as “a spiritual homeland”. Enjoy a spectacular view of the coast, looking at Minori and Maiori. In this last stage, 1 hour of free time is foreseen during which you can ask our guide for suggestions on further visits or go to the splendid Villa Rufolo, a 13th-century villa from which you can enjoy a spectacular view of Maiori and Minori. The tour ends late in the afternoon with return to Sorrento. Accommodation

 

Day 8: Sorrento – Capri – Sorrento

Breakfast at the hotel. Regular excursion (join-in group tour) to the island of Capri. Transfer to the departure point of the excursion on your own.

A pleasant boat ride along the Sorrento coast will take you to the island of Capri. Departure from the Port of Piane di Sorrento towards the island.

Arrival at Marina Grande, the main port of the island. Free time to walk through the alleys of the center, reliving the ancient times between the archaeological finds of Villa Jovis and an excursion to Mount Solaro. Around 15:30 you will have as boat tour of the island. Among the recommended sites of interest, you want to focus your attention on the Punta Carena lighthouse, the second largest in Italy, the Blue Grotto (entrance fee not included in the price of the excursion – € 13.00 P.P. approx) and the Arco Naturale. We will make several stops to swim and dive. Return to Sorrento late in the afternoon. Accommodation

 

Day 9: Sorrento – Pompeii – Sorrento

Breakfast at the hotel. Regular excursion (join-in group tour) to discover Pompeii. Transfer to the departure point of the excursion on your own.

Do not miss the opportunity to visit the famous archaeological site of Pompeii with an expert official guide. Join our small group to ensure a more personal experience! Walk along the ancient “cardini” and “decumani” and explore the remains of the Romans. Pompeii remained buried by volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in the first century, until the beginning of excavations in the 18th century. See the bathrooms, streets, bakeries, and forums that were an integral part of daily life at that time, and marvel at the frescoes, magnificently preserved, adorning the walls and floors of the fine villas. Return to Sorrento. Free time in the afternoon at your disposal. Accommodation.

Day 10: Sorrento – Naples

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Naples airport. End of our services.
